Meet Ian Fyfe

Having known Ian and his extended family for over twenty years and observing their business acumen and knowledge of Marlborough made me extremely confident that should Ian accept my invitation to join our company in 2004 his future clients would be well served.

Ians Great Grandfather Thomas led the team of 3 climbers that completed the first successful ascent of Aoraki Mount Cook on Christmas Day 1894. The north face route that Thomas led the climbers up is technically very difficult and it wasn't climbed again for nearly 60 years. Thomas went on to make the first ascent of other peaks in the Southern Alps and was also one of the first alpine guides at Mt Cook.

Ian and Jennys eldest son Michael Fyfe, recently became interested in climbing and subsequently climbed Mount Cook up the Linda Glacier route in November 2011. For the descent he was always going to follow his Great Great Grandfathers route even though weather conditions on Aoraki were not kindly and he was trapped for 2 days in a storm on the mountain.

The Fyfe family character of determination and true grit was present when Ian and Jenny introduced their 3 sons, at an early age to centre board yachting. Travelling to events all over NZ the two oldest boys, Michael and Jeffrey, obtained NZ top 5 status in P Class and Starling yachts and also represented Queen Charlotte Yacht Club racing Elliot 5.9 boats in an international match racing regatta in Sydney placing 3rd. Youngest son Scott Fyfe, sailing in the Splash class achieved Number 1 in NZ twice as well as representing NZ 3 years running from 2007 at the World Splash Class championships in Croatia, Portugal and Wales placing top 5 in each.

Ians hands on experience and enjoyment in developing his own vineyard obviously rubbed off on his son Jeff Fyfe who is currently the senior winemaker at Yealands Estate.

When you look at all of the above it comes as no surprise that Ian is a meticulous planner and has the work ethic and ability to listen carefully and implement a plan to achieve the best price for his clientele whether they be Residential, Lifestyle, or Rural. Having owned successful businesses in the past Ian is well aware of the importance of ensuring his clients are well served through being informed regularly of the market status with an honest assessment of where the buyers see his clients' property.

Mark Stevenson First National has been the Top Selling office since 2005 and Ian's contribution to attain this has been significant. If you are seeking an Agent who will be extremely loyal, work hard with a well thought out plan to achieve what you seek then Ian Fyfe definitely will tick those boxes. Ians track record and experience are the icing on the cake and while it costs you no more to have the best when it comes to selling your most valuable asset having the best is a wise choice.
